I am a Professor at Michigan State University. My research interests lie at the intersection of technical communicaton and human-computer interaction, and my work tends to be situated in both areas.
This is my wish list full of code, gadgets, and the occasional intangible state-of-being. Once, I dreamed of a way to publish stuff on the web so simple, that just about anyone could do it. And now...
Who is this person from my past who found my lame-ass, dormant blog? :)
Answers to your questions:
1. Not really, as I reserve the phrase Mother tits! for positive exclamations. :)
2. Podcasting as such is not a fad. What does appear to be short-lived, however, is the ability for independent podcasters to distribute content on par with large media outlets. Already, we are seeing the RSS 2.0 standards favoring big media in terms of the ability to find content in the Podcast landscape. Podcasting will be a major way folks get content from the usual suspects, I believe, but it will remain the information age equivalent of ham radio (or underground radio, perhaps) for the little people.
